Positions Available
PetSmart currently has two positions open in the Replenishment division:
- Divisional Replenishment Systems Manager - As the Divisional Replenishment Systems Manager you and your team will be accountable for ensuring that appropriate supply chain replenishment systems and processes are in place to guarantee that the right products are in the right stores, at the right time and at the lowest cost. Activities are accomplished within agreed upon budget while meeting or exceeding the business and financial goals of the company.
- Work concert with department peers, department management, stores, distribution centers and vendors to identify replenishment system issues and opportunities. Develop a library of best practices and implement those systems related practices that will ensure that department and company business and financial goals are met.
- Develop new processes and enhance existing processes to improve in-stock performance with less inventory. Ensure that DPR system performance guarantees that best selling products are always in stock, while reducing inventory for slower movers.
- Utilize DPR system tools to reduce safety stock inventory by forecasting demand more accurately. Ensure that changing demand patterns are automatically adapted into the system.
- Leverage the DPR system capability to provide data that will determine the most economically effective replenishment strategy based on carrying and handling costs and transportation requirements.
- Ensure that the DPR system supports increased productivity of buyers and replenishments analysts. Provide store-modeling tools that will calculate forecasting and replenishment for individual SKU’s, product groups and categories.
- Develop and enhance the DPR system report generating capabilities. Provide training and access to all users to ensure the flow of information from the vendor through the distribution center and store to the customer.
- Ensure the DPR system and other systems have adequate and appropriate safeguards in place to protect company assets and intellectual property.
- Manage and maintain the interface between the SAP platform and the DPR system.
- Manage the activities of the Volume & Event, DPR, EDI, and New Store and Remodels organizations ensuring that all team members understand the vision of the Supply Chain Management organization and the business and financial goals of the company
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Supply Chain Management or Retailing required. 8–10 years experience in supply chain management is required. Progressive leadership positions required. Experience with replenishment management systems required. Thorough knowledge of supply chain management strategies and concepts required. Management of a team of professionals required. MBA preferred. Retail experience preferred.

Divisional Replenishment Manager - As a Divisional Replenishment Manager for PetSmart you will be responsible for providing effective leadership for a large replenishment team to include coordinating, measuring, and improving inventory replenishment to the distribution centers and stores. This includes measuring and reporting on all parts of the replenishment cycle, evaluating progress and recommending changes. Develop and execute strategies based on sales and inventory plans. Responsible for achieving the best in company in stock conditions, as well as meeting company standards and targeted inventory, service level, and sales goals, while optimizing the landed cost of goods.

Provide effective leadership for Replenishment Managers and their teams who manage vendor ordering. Develop associates through coaching, mentoring, performance management, talent management and succession planning. Identify associate training and development needs.

Oversee all replenishment processes used to achieve key metrics. Represent the replenishment team as a knowledgeable resource in discussions with senior management.

Utilize business expertise and technical knowledge to coordinate vendor replenishment needs and requirements. Improve replenishment efficiency, maximizing transportation costs and reducing overall lead time and company inventory. Provide leadership regarding strategy and process improvement.

Achieve quantitative goals and key performance indicators related to expenses, WOS, inventory turnover, service levels, in stock, on time purchase orders, and others as agreed.

Interface with internal and external customers and build cross-functional relationships (stores and store operations, merchandising, vendor community, transportation, replenishment systems, finance, etc.). Coordinate and integrate replenishment activities with other departments, develop strong partnerships.

Continuously maintain and improve vendor partnerships by providing quick and accurate responses to market and resource concerns and opportunities as well as monitoring cost, freight and shipping.

Participate in strategic planning and other special projects requiring senior management level input.

Direct replenishment department in providing the best in stock conditions available for the company while meeting company standards and goals.
Bachelor's degree with at least five related experience and/or training, and a minimum of two years experience managing multiple direct reports. Equivalent combination of education, training and experience considered. Manages 2-4 Replenishment Managers and also indirectly supervises up to 20 non-supervisory associates (Replenishment Analysts and Replenishment Coordinators). Solid understanding of merchandising, store operations, supply chain and marketing principles and their integration with the replenishment activities with strong working knowledge of inventory, financial, merchandising and operating systems.
